Sally M. Snell is a writer, photographer, and organizer of large, hairy, projects. Her work has required that she drink beer at the highest brewery in Europe, and do the chicken dance in Nebraska. "There are always sacrifices to produce good copy," said Snell.
She favors black and white infrared photography, especially moody grab-shots. She has recently migrated to digital infrared, noting the comparative ease of navigating customs and security at airports around the world, over using traditional infrared film.
As for the "large, hairy, projects," Snell says they don't fit a particular category. "I have organized 100 years of research materials for a company history, and successfully marketed a series non-fiction books in an otherwise stale economy. I don't see a pattern. Do you?"
A rumor has it she has been dabbling in video production, as well. "Just small things," she assures, such as preparing video for online applications.
And why is her "Do Not Disturb" sign out every day between 8 and 12? She won't say, but we are pretty sure we overheard a few Mayan terms while we had our ears pressed to her door.
